Abi Bown from the Advanced Maths Support Programme came in to talk to year 8 and 9 students about careers in maths. We focused on careers in medicine, sports science, journalism, animal care, logistical management, and data modelling. Students participated in tasks for each career, giving them a taste of the maths that is involved within those professions. This session also gave them an opportunity to talk to Abi about other careers they were interested in post GCSE, and the different routes into those professions.

Following this session, students also had a chance to take part in a competition. The students really enjoyed the session and subsequent competition and worked extremely hard throughout.
