The Apprenticeship Challenge

Our Year 7 and 8 students showcased their creativity and presentation skills in the Apprentice Challenge, presenting innovative ideas to improve our school community and impressing both the staff and senior prefects.

Over the course of the past 6 weeks, a group of enthusiastic Year 7 and 8 students at our school participated in an engaging event called the Apprentice Challenge, vying for the opportunity to win a £10 Gift Voucher. Divided into teams, these young participants embarked on a mission to develop and present a pitch to our esteemed Teaching and Learning Team, showcasing their innovative ideas for enhancing our vibrant MSJ School Community.

The candidates exhibited remarkable creativity, generating a plethora of remarkable ideas during the competition. Amongst the standout proposals were a student support system aimed at providing comprehensive assistance to fellow students, a peer mentor system operated by the students themselves, and the victorious team's concept—a personalised extra-curricular timetable designed to prioritise student well-being and driven by student input.

The presentations delivered by our Year 7 and 8 students left an indelible impression on Mrs. Sweetman and Mrs. Sanders, who were thoroughly impressed by the students' exceptional presentation skills and the sheer brilliance of their ideas. Even our senior prefects couldn't help but commend the remarkable display of talent and innovation showcased by our talented young participants.

The Apprentice Challenge not only fostered a spirit of healthy competition amongst the students but also served as a platform for nurturing their presentation abilities, fostering teamwork, and stimulating their creativity. Through this exciting initiative, our Year 7 and 8 students have demonstrated their immense potential and their unwavering commitment to making a positive impact within our school community.
