Green City Challenge

Mount St Joseph Students take part in the 'Green City Challenge'.

Thirteen student representatives from years 7 - 9 took part in the 'Green City Challenge' at the RHS Bridgewater Gardens, a day that focused on environmental resilience.

The day started looking at different categories of environmental problems and looking at any potential green solutions to them. The main areas of problems that were looked at were flooding, temperature increase, and physical and mental well-being.

Students then had the opportunity to explore the garden looking at how it was designed specifically to be environmentally resilient and hold up to different environmental and ecological factors. The day finished with students creating their own design idea for a green space that can support solving the problems of flooding, warming, and physical and mental health, presenting their ideas to the others in their group.
