90 Minutes Away From Silverware

Mount St. Joseph secure their place in the Bolton School's Cup Final.

Yesterday afternoon everything was on the line as our year 11 team lined up against their opponents from Turton for a thrilling game of football, the game had a little bit of everything in a fiercely contested semi-final battle.

The final score (Mount St. Joseph 5 - 4 Turton) really says it all as both teams put everything on the line to clinch a spot in the final, with every ball being challenged for no matter it's whereabouts on the pitch. At one point in the game we were winning 5-2 but Turton stepped up a gear, scoring a brace and coming close to equalizing a couple of times in the dying minutes of the game as the Mount defence held their nerve and managed to keep their rivals at bay.

If the final (being played at the Macron Stadium) is just half as good as this thrilling encounter, then it will surely be an excellent game to watch.

Well done and congratulations to the Year 11 team (pictured below) on reaching the final.
