Information about the Schoenstatt Shrine Visits
Visiting Schoenstatt Shrine is an opportunity for students to develop their awareness of belief and faith and how it can be developed in young people.
The year 7 retreats started on Tuesday 17th September with form 7J visiting Schoenstatt Shrine in Kearlsey. The pupils got to know each other better through several activities in the grounds of this beautiful place and were able to reflect in the shrine at the end of the day.
On Thursday 19th September, 7S visited the Shrine and the beautiful September sunshine was very kind to them as they explored the site. Fr Reginald who led the day said " it was a pleasure being in their company".
Our third retreat took place on Friday 20th September with 7O, accompanied by Miss Bartlett and Mrs Coote to the Schoenstatt shrine in Kearsley. Mrs Coote reported that all the pupils enjoyed the experience with many wanting the day to carry on!
On Tuesday 8th October, we had our penultimate Year 7 retreat the Schoenstatt Shrine in Kearsley. Form group; 7H went and a day filled with activities and time to get to know each other better. Mr Haughton, who is our Chaplaincy lead teacher, has attended three of the retreats so far commented how good pupils attitude and involvement were.
On Tuesday 1st October is was the turn of 7P to visit the shrine. We are now over half way though our annual Year 7 retreats. Despite the rain and wind, 7P were resilient and were a credit to the school, partaking in all activities with enthusiasm!
The 11th October saw our final Year 7 retreat for this year. Form 7E went to the Schoenstatt shrine with Mrs Rowley and Miss Hassan and the day was a fantastic experience for all. Mr Haughton, who oversees the retreats said "Although sadly our annual retreat programme has now come to its conclusion it has been a fantastic experience for all involved, many thanks to Fr Reginald at the shrine for leading us on these days"
